SEPTEMBER 2001
- Governor Jane Swift has named Theron (Ron) Bradley to serve as a
commissioner on the Commonwealth’s Group Insurance Commission. Bradley,
who lives in Wilmington, is the vice president of compensation and
benefits at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington.
Prior to his current eight year stint at Lahey, Bradley worked as an executive with Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Massachusetts, as well as with Delta Dental. He has an extensive background in health care management, which should contribute greatly to the eleven member commission, which governs the insurance plans for state employees and retirees. Bradley, who is a Republican, was chosen by Swift to fill one of two vacancies on the Commission. A search is currently underway to fill the remaining spot. “Ron Bradley comes to the GIC as someone who is highly regarded by the governor and by his peers in the health care field. It so happens that we share a mutual friend, so I am well aware of his credentials,” said Association Legislative Liaison Shawn Duhamel. “The Association looks forward to working with Ron, as we try to improve our plans. Ironically, he also has a background in the field of dental insurance, which will prove very helpful as we try to establish a retiree plan.” |
