Kicks Off Annual Insurance Open Enrollment

APRIL 6, 2016: Today begins the month-long open enrollment period for the state’s Group Insurance Commission (GIC). Retirees and employees insured by the GIC now have until May 4, 2016 to make changes to their health insurance coverage or join the retiree dental insurance plan.

Members enrolled in the GIC, which includes both state retirees and a growing number of municipal retirees, should have received the FY 2017 Benefit Decision Guide. The guide provides detailed information on all GIC plans, as well as complete premium and out-of-pocket costs. Click here to review this information online.

The GIC will also hold a series of health fairs across the state during the open enrollment period. This first fair takes place on Friday, April 8th at Berkshire Community College. Click here for a full listing of 2016 Health Fairs.

Members enrolled in a GIC sponsored plan, who have questions regarding your insurance coverage or who want to change plans are encouraged to attend a health fair.
